Uluru, (formerly known as Ayers Rock), is a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid "Red Centre". The nearest large town is Alice Springs, 450km away. Uluru is sacred to indigenous Australians and is thought to have started forming around 550 million years ago. It is located within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, which also includes the 36 red-rock domes of the Kata Tjuta.

Ayers Rock
Feel the spirit of the Red Centre as you fly into Uluru (Ayers Rock) today. You will be transferred from Ayers Rock Airport to your resort hotel. Relax and spend the rest of the day making use of the hotel's facilities or take a short stroll around Ayers Rock Resort.
Wander from your hotel room to the Uluru sunset viewing area where you can enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine! As the sun sinks over the western horizon, the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is famous. It is recommended that you photograph Uluru every 5 minutes to really capture the gradual colour changes of the rock.
